Automatic Lessons. (same price as manual ones)
I now have an automatic Seat Ibiza which is available for lessons. 'Ruby' is a 1.4 auto and is very easy to drive. Like Herbie, she has air conditioning so is comfortable for lessons in the few hot days we have over summer!

Why should I have lessons in an automatic car?
Automatic cars have no clutch pedal. This means that they cannot stall! So you don't have to worry about finding the bite, balancing the pedals or changing the gears – Ruby does it all for you! Isn't she clever?!
You can also pass your test in less time in an automatic. As you don't have to learn about the clutch or the gears, fewer lessons are needed than you would have in the manual car. This also means it's cheaper!
What are the drawbacks to learning in an automatic car?
If you take your driving test in an automatic car, you are restricted to an 'auto only' licence. This means that after you pass you have to buy an automatic car. However, there's nothing to stop you coming back to learn in a manual car and then taking your manual test once you've gained confidence in driving.

Can I swap from manual to auto or vice versa in my lessons?
Yes, this is no problem. Some people are undecided which car to learn in. As I have both, it means that you can have a lesson in Herbie or a lesson in Ruby to see which one you like best. Oh perhaps you want to start off in Ruby to gain confidence in manoeuvring the car before learning about the clutch and gears?
